As we all press the accelerator through the next few hours to get the f$ck out of 2020, I want to take a moment to reflect on what was good. 2020 made us:
- Creative and silly again!
- Value the simple things: hugs, social interaction, friendship, visiting with neighbors, availability of toilet paper.
- Return to family time. It was amazing to see the neighborhood streets busy with families going for walks and bike rides together.
- Learn new things about ourselves and those we love because it required communication and the time to pay attention.
- Work life balance – finally FINALLY employers and organizations had to truly embrace and acknowledge this is a thing and it’s really damn important.
- Embrace grief in all of its forms. It nearly broke many of us and yet simultaneously made each of us stronger in our beliefs, values, and what really matters in our lives.
- It made us look internally to identify the dark places that we didn’t think we had, identifying the prejudice that live within most of us and working to be a better human today than yesterday.
- Learned to let go of what no longer serves us, embrace the unknown, and do our best to manage the uncertain.
- Sorry in 2020 it has to make the list … we Dumped Trump. 21 days left.
Life will not miraculously change over night, but slowly together life in the outside world will be renewed, restored but only if we learn the lessons. I wish each of you peace, love, and balance and a kick ass 2021 ☮️💟☯️
